Getting consumers to accept cryptocurrencies as a payment method is not easy. Most people don’t see the benefit of using this form of money over traditional solutions. CheapAir is making it slightly more attractive to use cryptocurrency for such expenses. The company is now incorporating three additional payment methods.

Most people are aware of how CheapAir accepts Bitcoin payments. The Californian online travel agency embarked on this venture back in 2013. It seems the rate of success is quite high, as the firm is enabling altcoin support as well. This is a move to help CheapAir solidify its position as a leading merchant for cryptocurrencies.

An Interesting Decision by CheapAir

The newly supported coins are rather interesting. It includes Bitcoin Cash, which is only to be expected. Similar to Bitcoin, BCH has become very popular with its own community backing this venture in a meaningful manner. As such, it is only normal merchants pay attention to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Integrating Bitcoin Cash has only become the new normal in this regard.

CheapAir CEO Jeff Klee comments:

“Our cryptocurrency customers tend to be very vocal about what they want, something we appreciate very much. Over the last six months, we’ve seen a huge uptick in the number of customers requesting alternative currencies, so we’ve worked hard to integrate the three that were most requested.”

The other currencies accepted by CheapAir include Dash and Litecoin. While one can understand the choice for LTC. Dash is a different creature. Its focus on privacy and anonymity has attracted attention from regulators. In Japan, exchanges are removing Dash support because of these specific traits. Whether or not this will impact CheapAir in any way, remains to be seen.
