Craig Wright Faces Lawsuit Over Stealing Dave Kleiman’s Bitcoin Balance and Intellectual Property

There is never a boring day in the world of cryptocurrency as of right now. One of the more recent developments involves cult figure Craig Wright. The self-professed Satoshi Nakamoto is being sued by Dave Kleiman’s estate. More specifically, Kleiman claims Wright wanted to steal his Bitcoin and intellectual property rights.

A lot of people highly doubt Craig Wright is the real Satoshi Nakamoto. So far, he has failed to provide solid evidence on multiple occasions. It now seems his most recent efforts to prove this fact will come to bite him in the rear. A $5bn worth of Bitcoin lawsuit is heading Wright’s way as we speak. This lawsuit is filed by Dave Kleiman’s estate. The great and late IT security expert’s ownership of bitcoins has become a hot topic of conversation.

Craig Wright Remains a Controversial Figure

More specifically, there is a dispute over the ownership of this Bitcoin balance. With up to 1.1 million BTC in the balance, it is evident this case should not be taken lightly. It appears this fund belongs to Dave Kleiman, who passed away back in 2013. However, he was a good friend of Craig Wright, who did not share his Satoshi Nakamoto ambitions with the world at that time.

It now seems Craig Wright attempted to steal Dave’s Bitcoin balance.Additionally, he also tried to obtain the intellectual property rights associated with cryptocurrency technology. There is also a mention of forged backdated contracts which seemingly verified the transfer of Dave’s assets to one of Wright’s companies. Not a smart business move by a so-called genius, that much is evident.

The big question is what type of information Wright was looking for exactly. He claimed to move funds belonging to Satoshi Nakamoto two years ago. That never happened, though, as Wright does not access the proper private key. It is possible this key is still in the hands of the Dave Kleiman estate as of right now. With this lawsuit in place, it is highly doubtful we will find out the truth anytime soon.
