Edge Bitcoin Wallet to Integrate Wagecan Payment Card Support

Not too long ago, we saw Airbitz rebrand to Edge. This change has been coming for quite some time now. For the end user, very little has changed, other than a design upgrade and a name change. Under this new name, the company is trying to add some more functionality to the Bitcoin wallet. The first improvement comes in the form of WageCan payment card integration. An interesting decision that can mention both companies in a significant way.

Most cryptocurrency users are familiar with Wagecan. The company specializes in payment card support for blockchain-based assets. It is, in essence,  a debit card which can be funded with different digital assets these days. The company has a handy interface available through a browser or mobile app. To make this service more appealing, Wagecan stuck a partnership with Edge. As a result, their product will become a plugin for the legacy Bitcoin wallet.

Adding More Functionality to the Edge Wallet

That is not all, as Edge will also integrate Wagecan functionality. Although the Bitcoin wallet is still in beta, this is a pretty big change, to say the least. Users will be able to link their Wagecan payment card to the Edge wallet. It gives the debit card some more functionality, and make Edge seem like a more complete Bitcoin wallet altogether. Plus, this means Wagecan users can get paid through their Edge address directly.

Wagecan CEO Franky Hu comments as follows:

“The Edge Team has created the most advanced, secure, and easy to use wallet app for crypto holders and users. We are extremely happy to integrate our service with such a great product and team. Airbitz users and later, Edge users, can order and use their WageCan Card to spend their crypto-assets all over the world.”

Furthermore, users can spend their blockchain assets through this debit card. This means Edge users can spend any existing balances through this card in the future. It can also be converted to cash through the use of regular ATMs. There will be a few “eligible” users who qualify for a card with no spending limits. The exact details of this latter venture have yet to be unveiled at this point. All things considered, a more than interesting development, to say the very least.
