In Russia, B2R Industry Unchains Robots

Who is developing the Business 2 Robots (B2R) industry in Russia? Are there bright solutions in the field? Let’s talk about SKYF, a unique project introducing drones in Russian agricultural sector and bringing the whole unmanned logistics to a new level by using blockchain.

Company background

SKYF is an ambitious project that has introduced the first industrial heavy cargo platform for vertical takeoff and landing. The company has run successful tests in the agricultural sector in Russia and is aiming at collaborating with giant companies from all over the world.

SKYFchain is a spin-off project of the SKYF team. SKYFchain CEO Alexander Timofeev is over-excited about the perspectives of bringing a unique blockchain based distribution platform to the market.

“When we started communicating with clients (we have more than 100 drones ordered by now), we understood the needs of big companies who work in logistics, oil and gas, mining industries. They do want the drones because it allows bringing the costs down by x 4-5, but it is not clear how to run these unmanned systems. Who will be in control?”

So, SKYF decided to come with an ideal registration system that would unite all the market players, beginning with a drone itself and ending with financial institutions who need to control the transactions. Since drones are becoming more and more popular in the logistics (think of Amazon or Alibaba using drones for internal deliveries), the need of a transparent operating platform where the robots will be able to communicate with the clients and other robots is huge.

The blockchain technology turns out to be a perfect solution for an operating platform. It collects all the information: what is happening with a drone and when; who carries the responsibility; what the delivery route will be, and many more.

One part of the SKYFchain is completely client-oriented. All the transactions are processed in traditional currencies, by a payment system convenient for the client. The interface is clear for everyone. The system changes the received money into the SKYFT tokens, as governed by the smart contract logic. Every transaction is recorded within the system, and these records cannot be damaged, hacked or deliberately altered in any way. Suchwise, the system is completely transparent and bullet-proof at the same time.

The pre-ICO, launched on March 1, 2018, has already shown that the market demand for such a system is huge:

“We have just started selling the tokens and we already see a lot of interest. Investors are coming; they ask interesting questions. The market is accepting our project. It is not only about money. ICO is so important for the project’s future promotion. Our ICO investors will be our future ambassadors.” — says Alexander Timofeev.

How stable is the system?

The number of tokens is limited to 1.2 billion, issued at one time. There won’t be any extra tokens issued apart from the initial emission. As long as the number of transactions in the system grows, the amount of money exchanged into the SKYFT tokens will increase without any change in the total number of tokens. This will lead to a rise in the token price, which is a strong stability promise to the investors.

In another clever move, SKYFchain has created a sustainable system of platform maintenance. A fixed part of the tokens involved in transactions will go to the nodes’ holders who support the system. Another 25% will return to the system Development Fund to secure the future development of the platform. This will ensure the creation of a treasury pool for the SKYFchain itself.

The only potential risk for SKYFchain now is the timing. The development of the platform may take longer than evaluated. But the SKYFchain team stays professional: they do their best to mitigate this risk.
