PotCoin Seeks to Sponsor Dennis Rodman’s Trip to US-North Korea Summit

Dennis Rodman is a person of interest in the cryptocurrency world to a degree. He has been associated with various marijuana-oriented efforts in the past. It now appears PotCoin is partially footing the bill for Rodman’s trip to Singapore where the historic summit between the US and North Korea takes place.

PotCoin Makes Headlines Again

Over the past few years, there has been an increasing focus on a cryptocurrency known as PotCoin. While unappealing to many speculators, the project is of some note to those individuals who are interested in marijuana. The marijuana-oriented cryptocurrency appears to be closely entwined with Dennis Rodman as the basketball legend has been linked to the cryptocurrency in an official capacity on more than one occasion.

It appears the PotCoin team wants to strengthen its ties to Rodman. More specifically, the team wants to fund Rodman’s trip to Singapore next week. At that time, the summit between North Korea and the US will take place. While this is a clear marketing campaign for PotCoin, their interest appears genuine.

PotCoin spokesman Shawn Perez explains:

The PotCoin team as a community has been incredibly supportive of Rodman’s peace mission from the beginning. We’re thrilled to see how the political climate has improved between North Koreans and the U.S. since he became involved.

Closing the Deal May Be Challenging

It is commendable to see this lesser-known cryptocurrency pay attention to this historic summit. While they are keen on supporting Dennis Rodman, no agreement has been reached as of yet between the two countries. Given the sensitive nature of this summit, that may not happen anytime soon either. A marijuana “twist” to a peace mission for the history books may not work out as planned.

It wouldn’t be the first time PotCoin succeeds in sponsoring Rodman. More specifically, it sponsored his 2017 trip to North Korea. This particular media stunt caused the PotCoin price to spike across various exchanges. Ever since things have returned to normal, the interest in this altcoin has declined spectacularly. Currently, PotCoin (POT) is trading at $0.0989, an increase of 0.86 percent in the last 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap.

For now, Rodman’s trip to Singapore is not officially confirmed either. His agent claims logistical issues need to be addressed first and foremost. The PotCoin twist is not at the top of the priority list, for the time being. Whether or not an agreement can be reached in time remains unclear. This summit is about bigger things than cryptocurrency, or Dennis Rodman, for that matter.
