Estonia is a country where blockchain technology has become all the more important in recent months. This is also part of the reason why the country will host an upcoming Bitcoin and blockchain conference. In doing so, Estonia will attempt to position itself as a future European Bitcoin and blockchain hub.

Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Comes To Estonia

It is always positive to see European countries attempt to bring positive attention to Bitcoin and blockchain. As of right now, Europe seems to be a bit behind the curve compared to other countries for some unknown reason. The UK and France are home to several Bitcoin and blockchain startups, but that is about it for now.

Estonia wants to change that by hosting the first blockchain & Bitcoin conference in Tallinn on March 9, 2017. As part of this event, industry experts, IT company representatives, entrepreneurs, and investors will come together to discuss their favorite topics. Events like these are excellent marketing opportunities as well.

But unlike other conferences, this particular event will focus on both Etonian and foreign projects implementing blockchain technology. Additionally, cryptocurrencies are becoming more common in Estonia as well. It will be kind of interesting to see what this conference can do for the local Bitcoin and blockchain ecosystem.

It is worth noting this particular Bitcoin and blockchain conference is not only coming to Tallinn either. Several other events are planned in Moscow, Kiev, and Prague. Eastern Europe certainly seems to be warming up to Bitcoin and blockchain technology, which is a positive development.

Unfortunately, no speakers have been announced for this event at the time of writing, which is quite worrisome. It is possible speakers will be added at a later date, so your best bet is to keep an eye on the website for updates.

[UPDATE 21-12-2016] Jon Matonis has been confirmed as the first official speaker for this event.

It is good to see the agenda slowly being put together. There are a lot of prominent people in the world of Bitcoin and blockchain. Novice users who have an interest in these concepts are always looking to find out more. With a few more speakers on the list, this could become an event to mark on your calendars.
