The Bitcoin sector seems to have projected itself to be one of the most lucrative sector for those who have been working in the government sector, especially in the United States. The latest person to switch from government payroll to bitcoin sector is Jamie Elizabeth Smith. Jamie Elizabeth Smith has left her job as the Deputy White House Press Secretary and Special Assistant to the President of United States to join BitFury.

Jamie Elizabeth Smith will be assuming the position of Global Chief of Communications in the Amsterdam based bitcoin miner company. Before serving under President Obama, Jamie has worked as Director of Public Affairs at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence making her switch to BitFury a high profile one.

For those who are wondering why someone in her position will leave a high profile job to join a bitcoin miner firm, Jamie has explained her rationale behind the decision in a blogpost. In the blog, she speaks about the potential of bitcoin and blockchain to change the face of technology in the coming years.

The post also mentions that she is not the only one to make such a switch. People from various other industry sectors like fintech, law enforcement, civil society and even other government sectors are slowly migrating to the crypto-sector. She has also listed few former government employees like Brain Forde, who switched from a job at the White House to head Digital Currency Initiative at MIT Media Lab; Jim Newsome, a BitFury board member who has previously served as the Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the Department of Justice and others. All of them have switched from government sector to cryptocurrency sector in the past one year or so.

Once people realize the extent of change bitcoin and blockchain technology can bring to the world, we can expect more people to switch from their existing jobs to become part of the blockchain and cryptotech companies.
