Polygon releases Agent CLI toolkit enabling AI agents on blockchain to hold wallets, send payments, build identity, and transact onchain autonomously.
Polygon has introduced a new toolkit designed for autonomous artificial intelligence agents. The network has released the Polygon Agent CLI to support agents to interact directly with blockchain systems. Consequently, developers are now able to let AI agents control wallets, send payments and access services without human intervention.
Polygon Introduces New Tools for Autonomous AI Agents
Polygon’s Agent CLI is a unified command-line toolkit for interacting with the blockchain. It offers developers a single installation that links AI agents to financial tools. As a result, agents have the ability to execute blockchain transactions as well as manage digital assets without any external help.

According to Polygon founder Sandeep Nailwal, the toolkit provides everything an agent needs to operate onchain. He explained that it is now possible, as a developer, to build financial rails directly into AI systems. Therefore, agents are gaining access to real payments, wallets and identity functions.

Furthermore, the tool enables agents to store and transfer digital funds on the network. This capability gives rise to new opportunities for automated services and decentralized applications. Consequently, developers can create systems in which AI agents can transact without the constant supervision of humans.
Polygon explained that the toolkit is a combination of multiple important functions of blockchain. These include wallet management, token transfers, and decentralized swaps. Moreover, agents are able to bridge assets between blockchains using the same command-line environment.
Another important feature is transaction permissions and allowance settings. Developers can define the interaction of agents with smart contracts and networks. Therefore, the system provides precise control over the automated activity of finance.
In addition, the toolkit presents support for stablecoin-based payments. Operations and transaction fees are settled with stablecoins like USD Coin. As a result, AI agents can serve without holding native gas tokens on the network.
On-Chain Identity and Payments Expand AI Capabilities
Polygon’s new toolkit also supports on-chain identity systems. Developers can use the ERC-8004 standard to create verifiable digital identities for agents. As a result, autonomous agents can create reputations based on their activity in the blockchain.
This identity layer enables the agents to keep track of interactions and gain credibility. Therefore, decentralized platforms can assess agent behavior on the basis of transparent blockchain records. Such features of identity may help in establishing trust in automated ecosystems.

The toolkit is also integrated with popular AI frameworks. Developers can link the CLI to other systems like Claude and Openclaw. Consequently, the system helps with fast deployment of autonomous blockchain agents.
Polygon released the toolkit soon after turning on its Lisovo network upgrade. This upgrade featured a $1 million subsidy with gas set up on AI agents transactions. Therefore, in the network, the goal is to decrease the operational costs of automated services.
