An exclusive co-interview with Rogue Bunnies founder and legendary Playmate Victoria Fuller and Web3 PR maven Marshall Beck on leaving the Playboy legacy behind, building a mainstream cultural brand, and their vision for the future.
For decades, the Playboy brand stood as a pillar of pop culture, a sophisticated empire built by Hugh Hefner. But in the years since his passing, a collective of his original, “Legacy Playmates” felt the brand’s classy, “girl next door” mystique was being eroded. Rather than watch their legacy fade, they took control.a
This is the origin story of the Rogue Bunnies, a new media and entertainment brand founded by legendary Playmate Victoria Fuller. Alongside strategic individuals, Marshall Beck, who is Marketing, PR, and Business Development at Lunar Digital Assets & Lunar PR, Fuller is pioneering a new path in the decentralized world of Web3. They are not just preserving a legacy; they are building a new one on their own terms.
We sat down with both Victoria Fuller and Marshall Beck to discuss their shared vision, the challenges of Web3, and their ambitious plan to create a unifying force in today’s divided cultural landscape.
1. Why did you decide to form the Rogue Bunnies?
Rogue Bunnies is what’s in the name. Legacy Playmates who went Rogue. Hugh Hefner’s passing left a void the current group running Playboy couldn’t fill. The direction of Playboy and the Legacy of a Playboy Playmates was shifting as far away from “the girl next door” as it could go. Hef’s 70 years of building a classy aspirational brand with talented writers, artists, A-list celebrity, and the monthly Playboy Playmate Centerfold, turned into explicit adult content.
Gone was the classy mystique , the girls next door vibe, and the amazing articles and interviews from renowned writers. Playboy went from an iconic pop cultural media source that inspired and captivated the entire globe to an only fans style subscription based web 2 platform where anyone who created a creator profile could now say they were a Playboy Playmate and a Playboy Bunny. Our exclusive legacy brand was being diluted. In order to save or even preserve our legacy we had to take control of our valuable IP by forming our own brand separate and apart from Playboy.
I chose blockchain technology and web3 because it was the emerging “rogue”media to connect with our audience on our own terms, to create compelling innovative content to offer our existing fans, and Playmate enthusiast that the new Playboy left behind. Not only our existing audience but introduce to an all new emerging audience in the web3 space. Offing new ways to building a community who wanted access into our world.
2. What’s been the biggest challenge working within an emerging Web3 industry?
The biggest challenge working in web3 has been educating our web2 followers and fan base into crypto, blockchain, and defi wallets. Presenting something totally new to an “old school” audience was bound to have some challenges, but I felt it was worth the time and energy to be early in the Web3 space by putting our stake in the ground and building in a new media that wast yet saturated.
3. What are your plans for the Rogue Bunnies in the future?
The future of Rogue Bunnies is endless. We will continue to build a strong foundation and infrastructure to scale as a media and entertainment brand as content creators and influencers. But we have a different twist. While Explicit content and porn platforms are being consumed globally at a rate never seen before, Rogue Bunnies has the opportunity to emerge as the next inspirational brand offering non nude, mainstream sexy yet PG style content and media highlighting beauty , brains, talent, and yes the girl next door.
4. There’s been drama in the media with the Playboy and Playmate brands in the past. Do the Rogue Bunnies struggle with any internal dramas and how do they deal with them when they arise?
I think good communication and transparent intentions is pretty important. Rogue Bunnies isn’t looking to own and control its talent. Rogue Bunnies is a collective of beautiful women who share common values regarding their public persona as well as being very entrepreneurial minded.
Marshall: We always try to focus on the future and what can be accomplished rather than indulging in drama or negativity.
5. Some people within the Web3/Crypto industry attempt to label the Rogue Bunnies as a pornography brand. What would you say to them about that label?
I understand due to our origin it is an easy assumption to assume we are playing the nude card. I decided on the inception of creating Rogue Bunnies to NOT involve any nudity. Being labeled adult content automatically places you in box. And although adult content is very profitable I wanted to build a “mainstream” brand.
6. Will the Rogue Bunnies ever have a centralized hub like the Playboy mansion had back in the day?
There will never be another Playboy Mansion, but a centralized hub where the Rogue Bunnies can take a page from our experience at Hef’s mansion , yes for sure. We want a place where our community can be together in real life and invite others from all different walks of life out to take part in the fun.
7. What do you think of the gender relations and “gender wars” frequently taking place within the current Western Mainstream culture?
I think without the masculine, the feminine could not be defined and vice versa. Both are important energies and they should complement each other, not battle each other. Embracing those differences instead of challenging them and using them to create conflict might be a good start. We want to bring people together to enjoy each other’s company and to have fun. We don’t want to create more division. There’s unfortunately enough division already in Mainstream culture right now.
8. Do the Rogue Bunnies support Feminism or are they more about the traditional balance of masculine and feminine energy as well as principles?
I can’t and won’t speak for each of the individual Rogue Bunnies. But, I think we all have our own views on the subject that vary from super traditional to some who have a more Feminist view. Woman have had to overcome major oppressive obstacles in the last century. I feel continuing to find outlets to celebrate each other’s strengths and supporting each other’s weaknesses would benefit different mindsets to work together and enjoy one another.
9. Do the Rogue Bunnies support female empowerment and Feminism or are they more about restoring the balance between gender relationships within society as a whole?
Rogue Bunnies is empowering the Women behind the brand for sure. Rogue Bunnies aspires to be a mainstream lifestyle brand, with the focus on entertaining through celebrating sports, art, music , fashion, and culture in general.
Marshall Beck: We do aim to raise the standards of feminine grace, intelligence, empathy, and beauty within society overall as it seems to have digressed and fallen. The original and classic vision of the Playmates was for them to be like “the friendly and beautiful girl next door”.
That all being said, the Rogue Bunnies clearly appreciate and respect the men who are within our community. Us men within the community massively appreciate the respect the Playmates show to us as well. Respect and appreciation is extremely hard to find in society today, as a man, as much of the mainstream narratives in media and in Politics has encouraged the disparagement of traditionally masculine values, principles, manhood, fatherhood even, and the general ways of our natural being… It literally FEELS GOOD to be treated with respect and kindness by these women rather than the typical contention many of us are used to dealing with and tolerating nowadays in almost every aspect of our lives. The Rogue Bunnies community and experience literally feels like a breath of fresh air within the rotting fog debris of a falling and failing society… to put it BLUNTLY-:: which I’m infamous for in America…::
10. Is it possible for Men and Women to get along and fully appreciate each other within the current expectations, “Gender Wars”, and narratives being pushed by much of Western Mainstream Society?
Marshall Beck: I think so… I hope so… In my experiences with the Rogue Bunnies community we are proving this is possible as we expand, have our IRL events, and continue to develop and adapt with the brand, vision, standards, and community. One exceptional aspect that causes the Rogue Bunnies to stand out from other similar communities is that there IS A STANDARD but NOT a cookie-cutter like mold or stereotype for what we consider to be beautiful or powerful. From my perspective, the Rogue Bunnies have each as individuals seemingly obtained their own personal successes by their own self-empowerment, drive, ambition, as well as through some assistance and encouragement from the network surrounding the community at large for what has now been going on decades.
Although misandrist tendencies have been hammered through the mainstream media and political narratives for decades on all fronts, the women in our community seem to fully appreciate the masculine while maintaining their own individuality paired with undeniable feminine grace and beauty. There are many kinds of beautiful, fun, successful, entrepreneurial, and intelligent women within the Rogue Bunnies community who have exceptional talents in many different fields. I couldn’t believe how enjoyable, relatable, and down to earth each of them was in person after my first Rogue Bunnies party…
When we begin recruiting a new generation of Rogue Bunnies, we have discussed how we want them to be examples of what other women should try to aspire to be like in many ways. I really do hope that this community and the Rogue Bunnies can set some sort of precedent and or archetype for what it means to be a kind, successful, empathetic, and beautiful woman within the mainstream culture. I think we ALL need a lot more of that right now…
11. What is your favorite aspect of being a Rogue Bunnie and a Playmate?
The best thing about being an original Playmate and Rogue Bunnie is being part of the most iconic exclusive sorority of amazing women chosen by Hugh Hefner. Being an ambassador to the Playboy brand while Hef was running the magazine was exciting. Hef made being a Centerfold special. The legacy Playmates embodied pop culture , transcending past the pages of the magazine and into Sports , art , music and culture. Nostalgia overload.
12. What is your favorite experience from starting the Rogue Bunnies?
Being a creative force, having a vision and building a community of people who share that vision.
13. How does the Mansion 2.0 party experience capture the original essence of the original Mansion?
Nothing will ever compare to Hef’s Mansion and his presence. The only way to try to capture the essence, is to create a lux venue, invite as many Rogue Bunnies as possible and give our guests the VIP treatment. Leave the egos at the door and celebrate the good life with Bunnies!
14. How would you describe the community surrounding the Rogue Bunnies?
Loyal, Engaged, and Classy.
15. Can you tell us more about the Rogue Bunnies “Mayhem podcast” and what listeners can expect on the different episodes?
The Mayhem Podcast is a 30 minute chat with playmates, rockstars, and other interesting people. Hosted by Brian Olea , Hef’s head butler for 20 years and former Playboy radio Host, along with Jennifer Pershing a fellow Playmate and Rogue Bunny Team member and myself. And the Mayhem Continues…
16. The Rogue Bunnies seems like it is a very fun community to be a part of overall. How do you keep this fun vibe alive while overseeing the business side of so many different aspects?
I’m not a solo act, I have an amazing core team and, 75 Rogue Bunnies….. 🐰 I mean need I say more?
17. For Marshall, what is it like working with the Rogue Bunnies and clearly being a very respected member of their community?
I do remind myself frequently of how grateful and lucky I am to be as close with a literal army worth of the entire world’s most beautiful, FUN, motivated, accomplished, OUTGOING, Brave, and yet still all very down to earth and enjoyable WOMEN. It’s been every man’s dream or fantasy at one time or another to be close to THE PLAYMATES or to even meet them and I’m now somehow living it. Ha! They are incredible.
18. For Marshall, what other Web3 projects are you a part of overall?
I currently handle most of the Public Relations for Lunar Digital Assets and our clients. I do the PR work and a lot of Business Development for our clients and projects. Because of this position, I deal with the top Crypto Media outlets in the world every day.
Also, we host QuickSwap’s “The Aggregated” every Friday which is often cited as the top Web3/Crypto podcast in the world by most of the Crytpo/Web3 media. Booking up that show every week keeps me very busy. It’s a lot easier than booking shows, concerts, or tours for Metal or Rock bands though… Grahahahaaaaa!
19. For Marshall, you are infamous around the world for your extremely Heavy and aggressive Music as well as being outspoken and influential in American Politics. Are you still involved with either of those industries?
I’m a Metalhead trVe and through… I’ll always be involved with and will be making Heavy as Hell music in some capacity. I’m currently working on another release and covers to follow up the cover of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” Marshall Beck & The Totally Tough Guys put out not too long ago. We were inspired to cover that song to remind the world’s most powerful political leaders how ridiculous it is to be killing each other and not working towards or negotiating for peace. Especially, when so much of the world is now nuclear. I won’t say too much more… But, after watching some dude intentionally bomb the hell out of civilians a day before we had the warring parties set and agreeing to talk peace in the Vatican was something “special”…
As far as politics goes, I’m sure I’ll always be dragged into the messes here and there overall because of the circle of “friends” I keep. I don’t at all enjoy this aspect of my life. It was something I ended up being thrown into and did better at it than almost anyone else in the history of the world in terms of my results. Especially, given my “non-existent” pay and lack of an official position. But, the results given my efforts is proof enough of my overall claims. IYKYK. ANYHOW. I’m not nearly as involved as I was from 2016-2021 and the contact I have with my former Private Intelligence teams is now very rare.
20. What does Marshall Beck bring to the Rogue Bunnies and their community? He seems like a scary guy, is he scary in person?
Victoria Fuller: Marshall Beck is actually a very genuine person who deeply cares about our values and our community. We met a few years ago and we hit it off instantly. Beck completely understands the Rogue Bunnies roadmap and vision. Marshall goes far beyond his knowledge of PR, business development, and marketing skills… He is a creative FORCE. He has been great to bounce ideas off of while becoming a valuable friend and team player in the Rogue Bunnies ecosystem. We are very fortunate to have him on board.
