Crypto exchange Binance has committed $250,000 to support Ebola outbreak response efforts in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The funding targets frontline operations in some of the most affected and underserved areas.
Binance will split the contribution equally between the Uganda Red Cross Society and Doctors Without Borders, known as MSF. Both organizations are currently active in containing the outbreak and delivering emergency care on the ground.

Binance Targets Frontline Ebola Response in DRC and Uganda
The Ebola strain driving the current outbreak is the Bundibugyo virus.
There is no approved vaccine or treatment for it. That gap has put enormous pressure on health systems in eastern DRC and the wider region. Frontline workers are operating in difficult conditions with limited resources and infrastructure.
Binance says its funding will go toward emergency medical care and treatment. It will also cover infection prevention and control, protective equipment for health workers, and community awareness campaigns.
The focus is on high-risk and underserved areas where access to health infrastructure remains limited.
Richard Teng, Co-CEO of Binance, addressed the urgency in a blog release. He said the teams working to contain the outbreak are delivering life-saving support under incredibly difficult conditions.
He added that Binance is proud to back both organizations as they work to protect vulnerable populations.

Uganda Red Cross and MSF to Split the $250K Equally
Each organization receives $125,000 from Binance’s total commitment.
The Uganda Red Cross Society operates within Uganda, where cases have been reported near the DRC border. MSF, meanwhile, has international response capabilities and deep experience in outbreak management across Africa.
Binance described both organizations as having frontline expertise and strong local and international response capabilities.
The exchange said it chose to work with established partners rather than operate independently. That approach reflects a broader strategy of backing trusted organizations with proven on-the-ground experience.
The partnership comes as the DRC continues to face one of the most prolonged Ebola responses in recent years. Communities in the affected zones face serious disruptions to everyday healthcare access.
Binance’s Broader Commitment Across Africa
Binance framed this donation as part of its long-term focus on Africa.
The exchange has been expanding across the continent through programs tied to education, financial inclusion, and digital skills development. This contribution extends that focus into urgent public health.
The company said businesses operating in the region carry a responsibility beyond economic participation. It positioned itself as a partner in community wellbeing, particularly in moments of crisis.
Binance noted that the commitment reflects what it described as its broader goal of supporting community resilience across Africa in practical ways.
The exchange has not disclosed a timeline for when the funds will be fully disbursed. Both recipient organizations are expected to deploy resources based on their current operational priorities in the field.
