Cardano partners with Wirex and EMURGO to launch the first ADA card, offering crypto payments, cash back, and ATM access.
Cardano has partnered with Wirex and EMURGO to launch its first ADA card. This new development will offer Cardano users a way to spend their ADA and other cryptocurrencies in everyday transactions.
The card was announced at the 2025 Cardano Summit and is seen as a step for the Cardano network. It marks the beginning of Cardano’s entry into the traditional financial ecosystem.
Wirex and EMURGO Partner for ADA Card Launch
Wirex, a well-established fintech platform with over 6 million users, has teamed up with EMURGO, the commercial arm of Cardano, to launch the ADA card.
This card will allow Cardano holders to spend ADA and other cryptocurrencies, including stablecoins, across the globe. It will offer benefits like ATM access and 8% cash back on purchases, giving Cardano users a practical way to use their digital assets.

The ADA card will be fully integrated into the Wirex app, which will provide users with additional features like yield farming and borrowing against ADA.
This collaboration aims to enhance the usability of Cardano’s ADA token, offering a more seamless experience for crypto holders. The new card will be available in both physical and virtual formats, making it convenient for a wide range of users.
Making Crypto Payments More Accessible
The ADA card aims to make cryptocurrencies more accessible for everyday transactions. Currently, there are over 820 million active crypto wallets, but only about 31 million are used for day-to-day payments.
This gap represents a large market of crypto holders who would use their digital assets more often if given the proper tools. The ADA card aims to fill this need by allowing users to easily spend their cryptocurrencies in a way that feels familiar to traditional payment methods.
George Skolov, co-founder of Wirex, explained that the launch of the ADA card marks a key step toward making digital assets a part of daily life.
By making it easier to spend cryptocurrencies, the partnership hopes to encourage more widespread adoption of digital currencies. This move will bring Cardano into the larger conversation around the future of crypto payments.
Future Plans for the ADA Card
Looking ahead, Wirex and EMURGO plan to release a non-custodial version of the ADA card in 2026. This version will give users more control over their funds, allowing for greater privacy and security. The non-custodial card will offer the same spending features but with an added layer of protection.

Philip Pon, CEO of EMURGO, highlighted that the card will support on-chain finance, with an emphasis on mobile-ready solutions. Besides, this focus aligns with Cardano’s long-term goal of integrating digital assets into users’ everyday financial lives.
The ADA card, through its integration into the Wirex app, will provide Cardano holders with access to a range of tools, making it a significant development for the Cardano ecosystem.
Launching of the ADA card is a major step toward Cardano becoming a key player in the financial landscape. As the card becomes available, it could pave the way for more users to adopt Cardano’s ADA token. This will make crypto spending a common part of daily life.
