What Makes Bitcoin Fun?

-

What makes bitcoin fun?  Well, it’s convenient for one thing.  My first real introduction to the currency was through a news station position that I still hold.  The holidays were coming up and my employer informed us that he would be granting us holiday bonuses in bitcoin.  As the station reported on all major bitcoin and digital currency stories, a bitcoin bonus seemed like the right thing to do…

…But I had never had a bitcoin address in my life.  I had no account, I was completely ill-prepared, so I opened up a Coinbase account, and quite frankly I’m very glad I did.

My opinion is that most people still aren’t using bitcoin and cryptocurrencies because they think doing so will be difficult.  Sites like Coinbase make it pretty easy for customers.  All you have to do is set up your username and password, link your bank account or credit card and voila!  You’re ready to buy and receive.  Just think of it as direct deposit.

Furthermore, it just feels good to know that you’re part of a growing, digital age.  The idea of exchanging and receiving money that doesn’t come in paper or metallic form, but rather in binary code… Whoever saw that coming?  If 20 years ago someone had told you that money could be paid in a bunch of 1s and 0s, wouldn’t you think they were nuts?  Yet the day has arrived, so with the technology and all the resources here for you to use, why deny yourself the opportunity?

Have fun with bitcoin.  That’s what it’s here for.
