Many ecommerce players across the world have gradually started to understand the importance of having bitcoin as an additional payment option along with conventional ones. Major online retailers like Rakuten have already included it to their platform and others are slowly catching up. Setting up an ecommerce site has become a lot easier these days. There are many platforms that offer ready ecommerce solutions which can be set up and made to go live in no time. OpenCart is one such solution that comes ready with various payment gateway options.
BitcoinPay, a European bitcoin payment solutions provider has launched its bitcoin payments option for OpenCart powered ecommerce platform. The new feature is available in the form of a plugin, which can be readily integrated on the platform. Once integrated, merchants have to follow few simple steps to configure the plugin and start accepting digital currency in no time. The BitcoinPay plugin for OpenCart is currently available for download on Github.
BitcoinPay allows OpenCart subscribers to accept bitcoin payments from customers and receive settlement as it is in bitcoins or opt for any one of the following fiat currencies from the list containing Euro, Dollars, Czech Koruna and Polish Zloty. BitcoinPay will charge a processing fee of 0.8%, while settling payments by the end of each day.
Founded in 2013 by Roman Valihrach and Daniel Houska, BitcoinPay has been working on developing the best solutions to help people include bitcoin payment options for their businesses.
“We are delighted to enable thousands of entrepreneurs across the world to easily accept customer payments in bitcoin, while having the option to remit their payments in their local currency and bitcoin in the ratio they choose. Merchants get proper invoicing in FIAT currencies so there is basically no difference between accepting bitcoins or accepting credit cards for example.”
