Lee Bratcher

Lee Bratcher serves as the President and Founder of the Texas Blockchain Council (TBC), an influential industry association comprising over 75 member companies. With a mission to establish Texas as the premier jurisdiction for Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, and blockchain innovation, the TBC has played a pivotal role in shaping legislative initiatives and regulatory frameworks in the state.

Driving Legislative Impact

Under Lee’s leadership, the Texas Blockchain Council has been instrumental in researching and advocating for blockchain legislation. During the 87th Legislative session, the TBC contributed to the passage of two key pieces of blockchain legislation, subsequently signed into effect by Governor Abbott. Notably, Lee and the TBC team focus extensively on shaping the regulatory landscape surrounding Bitcoin mining operations in Texas.

Spearheading Industry Engagement

Lee Bratcher and the TBC team organized the highly acclaimed Texas Blockchain Summit in Austin, attracting a diverse audience and featuring prominent speakers such as Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Cynthia Lummis, and SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce. This sold-out event served as a platform for thought leaders to discuss the latest developments and opportunities in blockchain technology.

Military and Academic Background

In addition to his role with the Texas Blockchain Council, Lee Bratcher serves as a Captain in the US Army reserves, fulfilling the position of Tech Scout for the 75th Innovation Command, which supports Army Futures Command. Prior to his current endeavors, Lee taught international relations and blockchain courses as a political science professor at Dallas Baptist University. He holds a master’s degree in International Relations from St. Mary’s University and is pursuing his Ph.D. at UT Dallas, focusing on blockchain land registries.

Lee resides in Richardson, TX, with his wife Becca and their three daughters, balancing his professional commitments with his dedication to family life.
