Gemini Expands XRP Support in Singapore With XRPL Transfers

- Gemini now enables native XRP Ledger transfers for eligible Singapore users.
- The rollout connects Gemini accounts with external XRPL-compatible wallets.
- Singapore strengthens Gemini’s broader strategy for expanding XRP services.
Gemini has expanded XRP support in Singapore, allowing eligible users to deposit and withdraw XRP directly through the XRP Ledger.
The move gives Singapore customers greater control over their XRP while connecting Gemini accounts with external XRPL addresses. It also expands the exchange’s blockchain transfer capabilities beyond trading and custody services.
Gemini Enables Native XRP Ledger Transfers
Gemini co-founder and CEO Tyler Winklevoss announced the rollout on Aug. 25, describing it as significant news for XRP users across Asia.
Eligible Singapore customers can now transfer XRP between Gemini and compatible external wallets through the XRP Ledger. Previously, the exchange’s local offering centered mainly on buying, selling, and storing digital assets.
The new functionality therefore provides a direct connection between Gemini customers and XRPL infrastructure. Users can transfer XRP to self-custody wallets or other supported platforms without relying solely on Gemini’s internal ecosystem.
However, customers must confirm the destination address and network before completing transactions. They should also check whether a destination tag is required, because incorrect transfer details could lead to lost funds.
Gemini did not announce new XRP trading pairs, revised fees, or minimum transfer requirements alongside the launch. The exchange also has not disclosed specific adoption targets for the new service.
Big news for the Ripple Army in Asia. @Gemini users in Singapore 🇸🇬 can now deposit and withdraw XRP over the XRPL network.

The expansion comes as XRP continues gaining broader institutional and market attention.
Gemini added XRP to its derivatives cross-collateral system in July, alongside Bitcoin, Ether, Tether, and Gemini Dollar.
Singapore Remains Important to Gemini’s Strategy
Singapore represents an important market for Gemini as the company focuses its international operations around the United States and Singapore.
Gemini Digital Payments Singapore received in-principle approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore for a Major Payment Institution license in October 2024. However, the approval remains conditional, and a final license has not yet been announced.
Meanwhile, Gemini has continued expanding its XRP-related products. The exchange previously enabled XRP Ledger deposits and withdrawals for Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin in December 2025.
Gemini also added XRP to its derivatives collateral framework during July, giving eligible traders another asset for supporting margin requirements.
The latest Singapore rollout therefore strengthens Gemini’s wider XRP strategy while improving direct access to XRPL. Singapore’s role as a regulated digital-asset hub could also provide an important base for future blockchain-related services.
For XRP users, the immediate change is practical rather than speculative. Native XRPL transfers provide a simpler route between Gemini, external wallets, and compatible blockchain services.
