Unstoppable Domains, one of the leaders in blockchain-based domain, and Somnia, a Web3 project focused on scalable blockchain software solutions, have announced a strategic alliance. The partnership, which aims to give mainstream consumers simple, inexpensive decentralized digital IDs, was formally announced at Somnia’s Token 2024 event.
As a result of this collaboration, members of the Somnia community will be able to receive a secure digital identity through the .dream domain, which provides access to identities based on blockchain technology that improves security, privacy, and protection.
Somnia is an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) Layer 1 high-performance blockchain that can process more than 300,000 transactions per second (tps).The project’s goal is to combine social media, games, and NFTs into an integrated metaverse in order to build a completely on-chain Virtual Society. Users can interact with different digital assets and navigate this diverse environment with ease via Somnia’s interoperability protocols.
Somnia CEO Paul Thomas highlighted the importance of digital identification, saying, “Identity is going to be a vital part of bringing the Virtual Society together, so they’re very excited to be teaming up with Unstoppable Domains for this initiative.” The .dream domain will give consumers a one-of-a-kind online login that can be used across 865 applications, games, and metaverses in the Unstoppable Domains ecosystem. This interface will soon be extended to Somnia’s platform, increasing the visibility of .dream identities across numerous virtual environments.

The simplification of blockchain transactions is one of the main benefits of collaboration. Using a .dream domain, users can send and receive over 200 different cryptocurrency types safely by substituting long, complex wallet addresses with short, easy-to-understand names.
Furthermore, owning a .dream domain ties users to a creative community, rewarding domain owners with badges depending on their holdings and offering access to exclusive group chat groups.
