On Tuesday, the same day that 0x (ZRX) became available for full trading on Coinbase Pro, the token also made its debut on Coinbase.com.
0x Debuts on Coinbase
Customers of Coinbase, the US-based cryptocurrency exchange, will now be able to buy and sell ZRX (0x) on Coinbase.com. The announcement was made earlier today on the firm’s official blog on Medium. This makes ZRX the 6th digital asset to make it to the world’s most trusted platform.
Just a few prior, ZRX had been listed on Coinbase Pro, the FDIC insured trading platform for advanced traders.
According to the announcement:
Starting today, Coinbase supports ZRX at Coinbase.com and in the Coinbase Android and iOS apps. Coinbase customers can now buy, sell, send, receive, or store ZRX, along with Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic and Litecoin.
Regarding the availability of the token in various markets, Coinbase notes:
ZRX will be available for customers in most jurisdictions but will not initially be available for residents of the United Kingdom or the state of New York.
ZRX Price Surges
The price of the digital asset has seen a 22.45% rise in the past 24 hours, riding on the back of this announcement. The token which commanded a market cap of $417 Million post listing on Coinbase Pro, has further added close to $84 Million in the last 6 days taking the number post the $500 Million benchmark.
The token, which is built on the Ethereum blockchain, “facilitates the exchange of a growing number of Ethereum-based tokens including currencies, game items, and many more digital assets,” according to the project’s website.
Developers can integrate the API provided by the ZRX project to allow an exchange of ERC 20 tokens, ERC 721 tokens, or any new asset type.
Coinbase Looking to Add More Coins
The cryptocurrency exchange has been taking various steps to ensure it stays competitive in the fast-growing crypto space including the addition of new coins. Last month, the firm had released a new process for listing of new assets on the platform.
Recently the company had also launched a new “Bundle” offering on its platform.
As reported by Live Bitcoin News earlier this month the firm is also looking to raise $500 Million for further expansion and was in negotiations with investment firm Tiger Global that would value the firm at around $8 Billion.
The listing of ZRX on coinbase.com was expected after it was launched on Coinbase Pro earlier. Soon we can expect more cryptocurrencies to make their way on the platform which is one of the oldest and largest in the world.
