Binance Labs Invests in Kernel to Boost BNB Chain Security with Restaking

-

Binance Labs invests in Kernel to enhance BNB Chain security with restaking, expanding DeFi potential, and creating economic security for dApps.

Binance Labs has made a strategic investment in Kernel, a platform that enhances the security of BNB Chain through restaking. Restaking allows for the transformation of BNB’s security into programmable and attributable trust, benefiting a wide range of crypto applications and services. In doing so, Kernel wants to become the global standard for restaking and provide dApps with a joint economic security system. This will, in turn, create maximum value for restakers across the globe.

Kernel believes that there is great potential to take restaking to other blockchains besides Ethereum. Although restaking has become popular in Ethereum, Kernel wants to introduce this model to other Layer 1 (L1) blockchains, starting with BNB Chain. The platform will use BNB Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs) and restaked BNB to fund the decentralized finance (DeFi) projects.

This step will help Kernel offer DeFi projects on BNB Chain economic safety. The future development of Kernel’s model will include BTC and other derivatives to expand the model’s range even more. Currently, Kernel’s infrastructure will be used by more than 20 decentralized applications such as Mira, an AI coprocessor, and Electron, a ZK proof aggregation protocol. Other partners such as ListaDAO, Solv, and YieldNest will also contribute to the creation of more utilities for restaked assets.

Kernel Set to Revolutionize Restaking with BNB Focus

Kernel also takes into account native and liquid staking tokens so that the assets will be optimised for blockchain networks. By providing an interconnected economic security system, it aligns the process of launching projects for developers. Also, it creates new opportunities for users to raise the utility of these assets. It reduces the entry barriers for protocols and creates a friendly atmosphere for the development of restaking and applications of DeFi.

Alex Odagiu, Investment Director at Binance Labs said, that Kernel is a promising and innovative platform for Binance. This will help in the further development of Web3. He explained how Kernel improves the decentralization of BNB assets and makes DeFi stronger.

Amitej G., Co-Founder of Kernel, agreed with this by stating that Binance Labs are very important for Kernel. He stressed that Kernel is not only expanding the restaking space but also opening up new applications for BNB-anchored assets. With its focus on BNB Chain and plans for future expansion, Kernel is set to transform the restaking landscape.
