Bitwala Enters The Pioneers Festival Challenge Day

The Bitcoin payment service company Bitwala has announced they have been nominated as a top 70 startup entrant at the 2016 Pioneers Festival. The festival is one of the largest entrepreneurship and technology conferences held in the European region. Bitwala will be featured in the financial services category with many other fintech teams. CEO Jörg von Minckwitz will showcase the group’s platform displaying the great attributes of the digital currency Bitcoin with the company’s services.

Out of 500 Entries, Bitwala Makes The Cut As One of 70 Contestants

Bitwala was founded by Jan Goslicki, Jörg von Minckwitz, and Benjamin Jones and has provided people with a way to pay bills, set up recurring payments, and transfer wealth easier all with Bitcoin. Recently Bitwala received €800,000 in funding from firms such as the Digital Currency Group, KfW Banking Group, Deutsche Post DHL, Deutsche Telekom, Robert Bosch, and RWE. The capital will go towards the expansion of its Bitcoin SEPA transfer services.

Now with the Pioneer Festival on May 24-25th Bitwala’s CEO Jörg von Minckwitz will discuss his company’s platform in front of 300 international investors and over 2,500 attendees. The startup says that it is “stoked” about making it this far as 500 participating startups were sifted through for this Pioneers Challenge Day. This presentation will be among many industry innovators and executives from Number26, the founder of Wikipedia, Qualcomm Ventures, and much more. Jörg von Minckwitz said of the announcement:  

“My co-founders Jan Goslicki, Benjamin Jones and I are very proud and extremely excited to be in the top 70 in one of the biggest startup festivals in the world. This is an incredible opportunity for us to share what we do and share the joy of using Bitcoin to our peers in the industry.”

Bitwala has done well for itself as it says it has secured millions of Euros in Bitcoin transfer volume and will continue to keep up the pace. The team states, “we have grown rapidly and we show no signs of stopping.” They are currently in the process of producing a mobile app that the company hopes to unveil in Q3 of 2016.
