  • CZ says tokenization could help countries raise capital through global investor access.
  • BNB Chain’s RWA holders surged 370% in 30 days, reaching about 776,000 wallets.
  • The tokenized asset market reached $38.4B as multi-chain adoption continued growing.

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, widely known as CZ, said tokenization could become a powerful funding strategy for countries seeking global capital. He argued that governments and companies could attract foreign investors by offering tokenized assets to participants worldwide.

His remarks come as the tokenized real-world asset sector continues expanding across multiple blockchain networks and investment categories.

CZ Promotes Tokenization as a Capital Attraction Tool

CZ described tokenization as one of the most effective ways for countries to raise capital and attract foreign investment. In an Aug. 21 post on X, he wrote, “Tokenization is one of the best ways for countries to raise money,” arguing that governments and companies could expand their investor base by offering tokenized shares to global markets.

According to CZ, tokenized assets can broaden market access and create new fundraising opportunities beyond traditional financial systems. He added that tokenization should not remain limited to a single blockchain ecosystem or infrastructure provider.

The Binance founder supports issuing tokenized assets across multiple networks despite concerns about fragmented market liquidity. He argued that competition among blockchain ecosystems would accelerate development and encourage wider adoption throughout the sector.

However, CZ acknowledged that liquidity fragmentation remains a challenge for tokenized markets operating across separate blockchain environments. He suggested greater interoperability between issuers could help reduce inefficiencies and improve asset movement between networks.

His comments did not announce any government initiative, regulatory filing, or tokenized asset launch. Instead, they reflected his broader view regarding the future growth of digital asset markets.

Growing RWA Market Supports Tokenization Narrative

CZ’s remarks followed new data showing rapid expansion within the tokenized real-world asset market during recent months. BNB Chain reported approximately 776,000 tokenized asset holders, representing growth of roughly 370% over thirty days.

Separate data from RWA.xyz recorded 776,428 holders on BNB Chain as of August 19. The platform also reported $5.8 billion in distributed asset value across 1,284 tokenized assets.

Meanwhile, the broader tokenization sector continues gaining momentum across several asset classes and blockchain ecosystems. Industry data shows distributed asset value reached approximately $38.4 billion, increasing 2.16% during the past month.

The number of tokenized asset holders grew even faster, rising nearly 80% to more than 2.37 million. In addition, tokenized stock value currently stands near $2.46 billion, while monthly transfer volume approaches $25.51 billion.

Despite growing adoption, regulatory requirements remain an important consideration for issuers and investors. Tokenized stocks and securities must still comply with applicable laws governing ownership rights, disclosures, trading activities, and investor protections.

As governments explore new funding channels, tokenization may gain greater attention. Even so, long-term success will depend on regulatory clarity, interoperability standards, and sustained investor participation.
