- Chromia and Chasm Network collaborate to enhance AI use on blockchain.
- Chromia’s relational database improves data management for AI applications.
Chromia, a relational Layer 1 blockchain, has formed a strategic collaboration with Chasm Network, a pioneer in distributed AI inference. This collaboration, featuring an investment in Chromia, aims to expand the use of AI on the blockchain. It marks a significant step in merging blockchain technology with artificial intelligence for broader applications.
The collaboration naturally fits from a technological perspective. Chromia’s architecture efficiently manages the vast blockchain data required for decentralized applications, and as AI-powered dapps increasingly consume on-chain data, this synergy becomes even more valuable. This partnership strategically positions both companies to meet the rising demand for advanced blockchain solutions.
Chasm enhances AI capabilities on Chromia
Chasm focuses on AI inference, which is a key stage in training AI models by supplying them with data inputs and outputs that increase pattern recognition. Its distributed AI inference network is designed to offer cost-effective solutions by utilizing a range of specialized intelligence models. This approach ensures optimal results across diverse applications.
While Chasm’s AI services are presently operating on Ethereum Layer 2 Mantle, the cooperation will allow them to use Chromia as their primary database layer for storing AI inference data. This hybrid strategy capitalizes on Chromia’s enhanced database management capabilities. At the same time, it leverages Mantle’s Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) interface to deploy the Chasm token. To secure reliable information for AI decision-making, Chasm created the Chasm opML Database as a specialized Chromia dapp.
Beyond AI applications, Chromia’s relational blockchain attracts additional initiatives. For example, Phlomis Finance plans to create real-world assets, while My Neighbour Alice, a blockchain-based building game, will make its debut on the platform. The success of these early adopters will highlight Chromia’s potential and encourage future initiatives to use its technology.
The convergence of Web3 and AI has proven to be a powerful combination, enabling broader access to disruptive technology. On-chain dapps interact with AI in two significant ways. First, they enhance trading through AI assistants that facilitate better decision-making. Second, they democratize access to AI resources, including GPU computing and large language model (LLM) training data, making these technologies more accessible to users.
Chromia’s focus on relational databases enables efficient data retrieval and processing, including hundreds of read-and-write transactions within a single transaction. This capacity increases the blockchain’s appeal for AI use cases, positioning it as a key participant in a market forecast to reach hundreds of billions of dollars in the coming years.
