Perceptron has moved data storage for its network of more than 800,000 nodes to Walrus. The Perceptron Walrus storage shift puts contributor data on a platform built for AI apps. The aim is clearer proof of where data came from and whether it stayed intact.

Perceptron says data from its contributors will carry checkable IDs. Finance firms and AI builders can then confirm origin and integrity before they use it. That is a direct AI and blockchain infra change. Collection stays spread out. Storage no longer sits only on big cloud vendors.

Why Perceptron Walrus Storage Changes Proof

Peter Anthony, co-founder and CEO of Perceptron, said the move closes a gap. Nodes still gather data in many places. Storage used to sit in one central stack.

"With Walrus, the data is signed, and our clients can now verify the chain of custody themselves," Anthony said.

Walrus is a data platform built for access and proof. Its site at walrus.xyz covers storage, access controls, and checks for AI systems. Perceptron says the link lets enterprise users prove where network data came from.

Kimberly Logan, head of product at the Walrus Foundation, said proof matters more as firms sell AI tools to large clients.

"Hedge funds, quantitative researchers, and AI companies depend on real-time intelligence, and they increasingly need to prove the integrity of that data," Logan said.

Data Questing and Cloud Cost Pressure

The move also backs Perceptron's planned Data Questing Platform. Contributors would tag images, label sets, and send structured data. Perceptron says those inputs will be logged on Walrus. That creates a clear record of what entered the network.

Perceptron also said the shift could cut reliance on normal cloud fees, including pull and egress charges. It expects the change to help control storage costs as the network grows. But it did not share specific savings from the move.

What Still Needs Proof

Perceptron runs user nodes on mobile and web. It gathers and shapes live data for enterprise, finance, and AI use. Data Questing is still planned as a way for contributors to build and tag sets.

More detail on the rollout and tag tools has not been shared. The next watch signal is clear. Clients need to see signed data in live use. And Perceptron needs to show that Walrus logging covers Data Questing at scale.
