Canton surpasses Cardano in market cap as ADA holders vote on the ₳32.9M Vision 26 IOR proposal and future research.

Canton Network has moved ahead of Cardano in market value, according to the shared market update.

Canton’s token, CC, also rose 10% on the day, while Cardano voters review a ₳32.9 million IOR Proposal tied to Vision 26.

Canton Network Moves Ahead of Cardano

Canton Network reached a market value of $6.08 billion, according to the market update. That figure placed it ahead of Cardano, also known as ADA.

The move came as Canton Network CC token gained 10% during the day. Traders linked the rise to new interest in institutional finance and tokenized assets.

The update also pointed to an upcoming DTCC launch on July 13. It also mentioned Visa stablecoin integration as part of the current market narrative.

These developments have placed Canton Network in focus among crypto traders. They are watching whether capital is moving toward finance-linked blockchain projects.

Cardano Community Reviews Vision 26 IOR Proposal

At the same time, Cardano is focused on its IOR Proposal for Cardano Vision 26. The proposal has a budget of ₳32.9 million, or about $7.9 million.

According to the proposal summary, the plan builds on Cardano Vision 25. That earlier plan delivered 24 papers and eight technology validation outputs.

The summary said those results came in 20% above target. It also said the new budget is about 40% lower in U.S. dollar terms than CV25.

The proposal includes 15 market-oriented programs across six technical work packages. It will be delivered by nine partners and 36 full-time equivalent workers.

Voting Deadline and Cardano Research Focus

Voting on the IOR Proposal is set to close on June 8 at 21:45 UTC. Supporters have urged the Cardano community to back the plan.

One proposal message said, “Vote YES on the IOR Proposal.” It also said the aim is to “lock in Cardano’s science-based edge.”

The proposal includes an output funnel with 42 planned outputs. These include five implementation-ready CIPs, 12 prototypes, eight CPSs, and 38 papers or reports.

Its stated focus covers human-centered design, scalability, and post-quantum security. These areas remain part of Cardano’s wider research-based development model.

The market comparison between Canton Network and Cardano now comes at a key time for ADA. Canton is gaining attention from traders watching institutional blockchain use.

However, Cardano’s near-term focus remains governance and research funding. The IOR vote may help guide the next stage of Cardano Vision 26.
