Ethereum Price Holds Near $2,300 as ETF Outflows Mount
Ethereum price holds near $2,300 on Tuesday as spot Ether ETF outflows and soft momentum keep sellers in control ahead of the Federal Reserve's October 28 rate decision. CoinMarketCap shows ETH down 0.95% to $2,309.58 over 24 hours. The $2,280 to $2,300 support zone could decide the next move.
Why Are Spot Ether ETFs Pressuring the Ethereum Price?
U.S. spot Ether ETFs recorded net outflows of $88.6 million on October 26, according to Farside Investors. BlackRock's ETHA lost $104.7 million, while Fidelity's FETH took in $16.1 million. No other fund reported flows, per Farside's Ether ETF flow update.
Analyst Rayder says spot crypto ETFs have seen more than $1.2 billion in net outflows since late September. CoinMarketCap notes that institutional selling adds ETH supply to the market. Early holders are adding pressure. Coach K, an Ichimoku trader, said an Ethereum Foundation-linked wallet sold 2,785 ETH, worth about $6.42 million. That sale is small next to ETF flows, but it feeds the cautious mood.
The wider market is leaning defensive. Ash Crypto noted that Bitcoin dominance has climbed above 60%. CoinMarketCap adds that ETH shows a 59.7% correlation with gold, which points to a shared macro-driven move. Friday's tape still matters for context after Bitcoin ETF outflows hit $137.9M while Ether funds briefly turned positive.
Which ETH Support and Resistance Levels Matter Now?
ETH is trading flush with the lower Bollinger Band near $2,300. Bollinger Bands track volatility around a moving average, so a touch of the lower band shows price is stretched to the downside. It does not guarantee a bounce.
Rayder is watching $2,300 and says a loss makes $2,200 interesting. Coach K sees ETH at $2,324, sitting on its daily Ichimoku cloud base at $2,334. A daily close above that level opens a path to the Tenkan line at $2,402. A close below $2,280 invalidates the setup.
Ash Crypto says ETH remains stuck between $2,300 and $2,800. It has closed above the weekly 50-period moving average for the sixth time, but the weekly Stochastic RSI shows bearish momentum. That oscillator gauges whether recent gains are outpacing losses. The reading suggests a shakeout is possible if $2,300 fails.
Analysts differ on how deep a drop could go. CoinMarketCap says a break below the $2,280 low risks a move toward $2,000. Ash Crypto names $1,900 as the next support after $2,300.
What Could Change the Setup After the Fed Decision?
The Fed's October 28 rate decision is the immediate trigger. If ETH holds above $2,280, it may consolidate. A break lower would open the downside targets above.
On the upside, Rayder wants ETH to reclaim $2,400 and hold it, with $2,475 and then $2,600 as targets. Ash Crypto lists resistance at $2,550 and $2,800.
None of the analysts is calling a bottom. Rayder says he would rather wait until the risk-reward makes sense. Coach K advises small position sizes until the chart picks a direction.
The Fed's October 28 decision is the next test. If ETH holds above $2,280 and ETF flows stop bleeding, consolidation stays on the table. A daily close above $2,334 would be the first sign that sellers are losing control. The $2,280 to $2,300 zone remains the line between consolidation and a deeper slide.
